October–December Writing Wrap-Up
Jan. 4th, 2025 08:00 pmOoh—I can't believe we're at the end of the year already! Since I'm planning to make a post for the whole year later, I'll try to stay on-topic in this one and focus on only the recent stuff.

Overall, things have been going smoothly, the progress is just a bit scattered (I even wrote out my ideas for two different time travel plunnies along the way—Cer1dwen, what have you done to me). Still, I'm happy I've been able to get anything done at all, considering the state I was in just a few weeks ago.
I'll…try to take it easy from here. Which is going to be tough, because I'm going to have new classes to adapt to, and I'm also going to have to look for an…internship?…as well as research other schools in case things go pear-shaped between now and the end of the school year.
I…hhh. I want to find more time to write. Take more time to write, take more time for self-care, even if it means I won't be giving my studies my all. Now that I think about it, I'm not surprised it's come to this—if I give something my 100%, then there isn't any space left for anything else, is there? But I swear some teachers don't realize just how unrealistic it is to expect this much of us (oh god I forgot about the online classes, too…). I've been told my whole life that I was taking it too easy, but now that I'm doing more I think maybe I was doing things the right way, and it was everyone else who was wrong. Half-assery is self-care, and my half-assery just can't keep up with other people's in most contexts, is all.

August–September Writing Wrap-Up
Oct. 12th, 2024 07:00 pmThese past two months, I did make a lot of progress, but mostly since I finished the last wrap-up until midway through September. I started studying art in school! The good news is, it’s going really well with both most classes and my classmates (I’d never felt so at home with my irl peers before). The bad news though is that we have so much homework that I haven’t really had the time I’ve wanted to work on my writing. Thank goodness I got a lot done in the weeks preceding all this or I wouldn’t have much to talk about here.

So, it’s a shame I haven’t had much time, but my muse has been doing well and the progress I have done I am happy with. I’m going to try to figure out a way to work on my writing more regularly outside of the holidays, see whether that works out (I hope it does).
In the meantime, I'm making friends, so I won't complain too much :>

April–July 2024 Writing Wrap-Up
Aug. 28th, 2024 05:23 pmWhoa, it’s been a while. Lots of stuff happened, and I tried continuing to write these, but I kept taking too long and messing up the timing. Well, here I am this time. Things have died down. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep this up from here on out.

Well. These last few months have been a bit messy, but I did get some stuff done. This is why it’s important to look back on one’s progress. You often find you did more than you thought.
A good few months. It’s been hard, but the fun is kicking in again. Good times.
That aside, I’m thinking I might start grouping months together. My previous entries were a little short, methinks. Three months might be good.
Well. I’ll find my ideal pacing eventually.
PS: It wasn't needed with the previous entries, but since this post is longer, I felt it needed some section breaks. After much struggle (this took me half a day I swear), I managed to create several classes of hr in the custom CSS bit of my blog's theme config. Very happy with myself.

March 2024 Writing Wrap-Up

Halfway through the month, we headed over to my grandparents' house to meet up with most of my mother's family, and since we hadn't been able to visit for Christmas, I couldn't pass up. And when we go on vacation, it's always a coin toss as to whether I get a ton or little to no writing done at all - this time around, it was the latter.

February 2024 Writing Wrap-Up
Mar. 6th, 2024 06:09 pmThis month has been very productive. I've worked on my writing on more days out of a month than I ever have before, I think. My GYWO counter says I worked 18 days in February, which continues to baffle me.
I did hit a wall or two. My muse wasn't working with me for a while, and I wondered if it was because I was working it too hard, but I read some fics and it got right back up it seems, so.

January 2024 Writing Wrap-Up
Feb. 4th, 2024 09:45 pmI don't really know how to start this, since it's my first time writing anything like it. I did make a first post when I created my journal, but this feels different - and while I have a habit of briefly journaling during my writing sessions, I rarely reflect on what I've accomplished beyond a couple of days back. I thought this would be as easy as any entry - but now that I'm here, I hesitate, I dread to look back - which is so unlike the writer part of me.
Well, here I am. And I've got a month of entries to go through, and a lot to say, so I'll be alright.

Jan. 7th, 2024 08:22 pmThis is my first post here. I mostly created this account so I could sign up this year's Get Your Words Out, but I figured I might as well learn to use the website itself and see if it sticks - although for now I'm mostly still trying to figure out how the website works haha.
After some experimentation, I managed to figure out how to add this mildly fancy border to my entries (I doubt I'll edit it much in the future, so see for yourself). A great thanks to this guide for the massive help, at to this page for showing me an example of how to format things. And I really wanted a border, so.
If I do end up using this journal, then I'll probably be talking about my writing on here? I'm already doing it on Notion, and was intending on posting more major updates on Tumblr as well, so I'm not sure if I'll actually end up writing in here. I'm hoping to, though - in part because Notion is mostly just me rambling to myself, and my Tumblr is too messy, and I was hoping to interact with the GYWO community on here, even though I'm not sure that'll stick either.
I guess we'll see.
