Ooh—I can't believe we're at the end of the year already! Since I'm planning to make a post for the whole year later, I'll try to stay on-topic in this one and focus on only the recent stuff.

These past few months have been…hard. I haven't been sleeping enough, and before the holidays started, I wasn't alotting time to self-care and was having regular bouts of compulsive crying.

Needless to say, I wasn't in a good state. I was getting increasingly less work done too, even during classes, so I decided I'd better start lowering the bar for myself so far I could scoot over it like a sea slug.

Which I did. It helped. I even started doing homework again after a couple of weeks.

Since I was going easy on myself, I stopped pressuring myself writing-wise too, and only worked on what I felt like in the moment. As such, I set the IchiBowl story aside—I'd started Summer, brainstormed it, realized it wasn't working, rethought Summer and Autumn, then decided I needed a break from the project. I haven't gotten much done for that one in a while, and in all honesty I've decided to wait until I've storted out some stuff with Isolated before I get back to it, if only because constantly switching projects only works when you write regularly, which I haven't been able to do.

Speaking of Isolated, at least I've been getting some stuff done on that front. The anime's been helping by keeping Bleach lore on my mind, and besides, there's always space in my head to brainstorm this project if I sit down and tackle it. There's more to do in there than with any other WIP of mine, but the going isn't as tough, and I don't get stuck nearly as often, so.

Writing-wise, I've continued applying my method to deal with Arthur's storyline. I wrote the entry for File 10, and started working on File 15's.
Worldbuilding-wise, Shinji may end up with a new Bankai, and I've worked on the way the cycle of souls work, the place the Quincy have in it, and more about how Ichigo feels about the role he now has in all that.

Plotting-wise, I've figured out proper reasoning behind some actions Lydia and Shinji take in WSSG and Ocean respectively, and how those decisions tie in with the wider story and character arcs.

Editing-wise, I reread the prologue of YODT and realized it needed some major fixes, so I've been changing some sections and downright rewriting others—I'm far from done with that though.

Overall, things have been going smoothly, the progress is just a bit scattered (I even wrote out my ideas for two different time travel plunnies along the way—Cer1dwen, what have you done to me). Still, I'm happy I've been able to get anything done at all, considering the state I was in just a few weeks ago.

I'll…try to take it easy from here. Which is going to be tough, because I'm going to have new classes to adapt to, and I'm also going to have to look for an…internship?…as well as research other schools in case things go pear-shaped between now and the end of the school year.

I…hhh. I want to find more time to write. Take more time to write, take more time for self-care, even if it means I won't be giving my studies my all. Now that I think about it, I'm not surprised it's come to this—if I give something my 100%, then there isn't any space left for anything else, is there? But I swear some teachers don't realize just how unrealistic it is to expect this much of us (oh god I forgot about the online classes, too…). I've been told my whole life that I was taking it too easy, but now that I'm doing more I think maybe I was doing things the right way, and it was everyone else who was wrong. Half-assery is self-care, and my half-assery just can't keep up with other people's in most contexts, is all.

Uhh merry Christmas. To myself. Happy soon-birthday. Cheers.

Onwards to January.
