These past two months, I did make a lot of progress, but mostly since I finished the last wrap-up until midway through September. I started studying art in school! The good news is, it’s going really well with both most classes and my classmates (I’d never felt so at home with my irl peers before). The bad news though is that we have so much homework that I haven’t really had the time I’ve wanted to work on my writing. Thank goodness I got a lot done in the weeks preceding all this or I wouldn’t have much to talk about here.

First things first—I completed by GYWO pledge! Had to contact staff because I’d forgotten to tick off the box when I submitted my day count in August’s survey. I’d completely missed that the staff mentioned you when you finished, too, but I am proud to announce that they do and that I am listed in this post.

However, as said above, I haven't had nearly as much time as I hoped I would have. It hasn't helped that I’m housing a classmate at my house at the moment, which means more to work out schedule-wise. He thankfully should have his apartment from November onwards, so maybe I'll have more time after that…Regardless though, what I mean is, if things go on as they have, I think I'll stick to the 120 days pledge for GYWO next year. Otherwise I just…won't be able to keep up. I'm not even confident I'd be able to keep up with a mere 120 days like I did this year.

Hhh, I…can't help but worry. I care about my writing a lot, and it really pains me to have to set it aside this much. On the bright side, I've been doing a lot more productive things in my free time, so hopefully I'll get more writing done during the holidays.

That aside, I finished the second chapter of my story for the IchiBowl, “Spring”…I think. I wrote the last section, and it’s rather good, I’m just not 100% confident I’ll keep it as is. Either way, I’ve updated the proofreader and artist of my team on where I’m at, and hopefully I’ll have more time to get some proper progress done on all this during the two-week break that's coming up.

Regarding my series, I’ve actually managed to make quite a lot of progress. First of all, I tried applying the fix that I mentioned in the previous wrap-up regarding Arthur’s storyline—and wouldn’t you know it, it’s been working great so far! I managed to mostly align their two storylines, reworked Lydia’s first memory to fix the main issue I had with it, and wrote the first of Arthur’s journal entries—and I’m very happy with the results. I think, if it had to go wrong, it would’ve done so already—and on top of that, it’s been rather fun, which is always a good sign.

The second thing that happened is that I managed to clarify The Hirakos/Runes—or Ocean, as I have renamed it since—as well as wrote a proper outline for WSSG. There are some character arc things I still need to figure out, but now the distinction between these two volumes and their purpose within the wider story is much clearer. WSSG is the volume where Lydia makes her own life worse, and Ocean is the one where things start going badly for Ichigo, get worse for Shinji, and end for Mother (I. I still don’t have a name for her. Really need to work on that). Things haven’t gotten bad enough for Shinji to intervene in WSSG beyond giving a piece of his mind, Ichigo’s probably over in some other town for his studies during Ocean, and Shinji is there because of his mom—and Lydia is mostly absent from Ocean because of the mess she’s gotten herself into in the previous book, which Shinji is too caught up trying to help his mom to pay enough attention to at this point.

It’s all falling into place, slowly, and I’m very happy with that. Things are looking up.

So, it’s a shame I haven’t had much time, but my muse has been doing well and the progress I have done I am happy with. I’m going to try to figure out a way to work on my writing more regularly outside of the holidays, see whether that works out (I hope it does).

In the meantime, I'm making friends, so I won't complain too much :>
